JAMSHEDPUR – A woman was injured during a daylight chain snatching in Sonari as police began scanning CCTV footage to trace two bike-borne suspects.

The incident occurred under Sonari police station limits on Wednesday. Two motorcycle-borne men targeted a woman near her residence.

However, the attack happened when she was returning home. She had stepped out to dispose of garbage.

Meanwhile, the assailants approached from behind suddenly. They snatched her gold chain and sped away.

Moreover, the woman tried to resist the attack. She held onto the chain to stop them.

In contrast, the accused pulled the chain forcefully. The struggle left deep scratches on her neck.

Local residents rushed to the spot immediately. Panic spread across the neighborhood.

Meanwhile, the entire episode was captured on nearby CCTV cameras. The footage shows two youths fleeing on a bike.

Police from Sonari station reached soon after information. Officers began collecting details and reviewing footage.

Moreover, investigators are using CCTV visuals for identification. Efforts are underway to arrest the suspects quickly.

Residents expressed concern over rising street crimes. They demanded increased patrolling in the area.

Earlier, a Sakchi chain snatching case led to arrests. A similar Telco snatching attempt was foiled by locals.

In another incident, a Bistupur purse snatching attempt injured a woman. Police had also dismantled a mobile snatching gang in Jamshedpur.

Authorities assured strict action in Jamshedpur. Security measures are being reviewed to curb such crimes.
