JAMSHEDPUR – A man was beaten by locals after he snatched a woman’s gold chain near Telco Stadium on Monday afternoon.

The incident created chaos in the Telco police station area. According to police, the woman was walking near the stadium when the man grabbed her chain and tried to escape.

However, she shouted for help, drawing the attention of nearby people. Locals immediately chased the accused and caught him a short distance away. They then assaulted him on the spot before handing him over to the police.

Soon after receiving information, Telco police reached the scene. Officers rescued the accused from the mob and took him to the station. Moreover, the police have started questioning him and checking his background.

Meanwhile, the woman filed a written complaint at the Telco police station. A local resident said, “People acted swiftly, otherwise the snatcher would have fled easily.” The public’s quick response is being appreciated across the locality.
