ZRUCC Member Writes to SER GM Over Passenger Booking Difficulties
Key Points:
- Proposal seeks unified status for Tatanagar and Adityapur
- Booking system differences cited as cause of passenger hardship
- Copy of letter sent to Chakradharpur DRM
JAMSHEDPUR – A ZRUCC member has urged South Eastern Railway to treat Tatanagar and Adityapur as a single station for reservations.
Arun Joshi, a ZRUCC member of South Eastern Railway, wrote to GM Anil Mishra. He highlighted problems faced by passengers during ticket reservations. He said PRS and IRCTC systems show both stations separately. However, fares and principles do not remain identical.
Joshi said this creates difficulties for patients, railway employees, and students. Moreover, travelers often fail to secure suitable tickets. On the other hand, similar stations elsewhere are treated as one.
He cited the example of Ranchi and Hatia stations. These are considered one station in booking systems. Therefore, he requested similar treatment for Tatanagar and Adityapur.
Joshi noted some trains now originate or terminate at Adityapur. Meanwhile, passengers remain confused during reservations. He urged South Eastern Railway to initiate corrective action.
The letter copy was also sent to the Chakradharpur DRM. The division falls under the Chakradharpur railway jurisdiction. Moreover, the issue affects daily commuters across the region.
Tatanagar serves as a major rail hub in Jamshedpur. It connects industrial and long-distance routes. Adityapur station lies nearby and serves expanding residential zones.
Railway-related issues near the station have drawn attention earlier. Fire incident outside the gate raised safety concerns. Track accident cases also highlighted commuter risks.
Administrative updates continue at the station. New RPF leadership was appointed recently. Meanwhile, passenger amenities were expanded. IRCTC food plaza opened for travelers.
