Tata Steel Holds Road Safety Awareness Session for Media

Session Held at CFE Auditorium During Road Safety Month Observance

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel organised a road safety awareness session for media professionals during Road Safety Month.

The session was held at the CFE Auditorium in Jamshedpur on January 31, 2026. More than 30 media professionals from across the city attended the programme.

Meanwhile, the awareness session was conducted by Neeraj Kumar Sinha. He serves as Chief Safety at Tata Steel. He spoke on responsible road behaviour. He emphasised strict compliance with traffic rules.

Moreover, he outlined essential road safety practices. These included vehicle fitness verification. Helmet usage was stressed. Seat belt compliance was highlighted. Obeying speed limits was underlined.

In addition, mobile phone usage while driving was discouraged. Fatigued driving risks were explained. Drowsy driving was flagged as dangerous. Safe driving habits were repeatedly reinforced.

On the other hand, the media’s role was discussed in detail. Media was identified as a key stakeholder. Its influence on public behaviour was highlighted. Its reach across communities was emphasised.

Furthermore, the need for consistent safety messaging was stressed. Media participation was linked to behavioural change. Public awareness was described as essential. Safer road culture was presented as a shared goal.

The initiative aligned with Tata Steel’s Road Safety Month campaign. The campaign theme was “One Road, One Family: Drive with Respect”. The theme highlighted collective responsibility among road users.

Meanwhile, the event was organised by the Corporate Communication Department. The department operates under Tata Steel, Jamshedpur. The programme formed part of ongoing community initiatives.

Similar awareness efforts included a road safety rally by authorities. Educational institutions also held campaigns like a school safety drive. Regional events included a Seraikela marathon. Public engagement efforts featured the Yamraj campaign. Corporate initiatives also included a Tata Motors drive.
