JAMSHEDPUR – Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey shared crime statistics on Monday. The data revealed significant improvements in law enforcement outcomes. Moreover, strategic policing measures contributed to these positive results.
Firing incidents witnessed a substantial decline during the period. The city recorded 46 such cases in 2024 previously. However, this number dropped to 30 in 2025 considerably.
House burglary cases showed the most dramatic improvement overall. Police registered 556 such incidents during 2024 across Jamshedpur. In contrast, only 295 cases occurred in 2025 reportedly.
Snatching incidents also decreased notably throughout the year. Officers recorded 78 such crimes in 2024 initially. Besides, this figure fell to 55 in 2025 eventually.
SSP Pandey attributed success to enhanced patrolling strategies deployed. Increased surveillance in sensitive areas proved particularly effective citywide. Furthermore, quick response teams helped deter potential criminal activities.
Illegal weapons seizures increased substantially during this period simultaneously. Police confiscated 75 unauthorized firearms in 2024 previously. On the other hand, authorities seized 111 weapons in 2025.
Officers arrested 247 criminals in various cases this year. Enhanced monitoring systems facilitated these apprehensions significantly. Meanwhile, coordination between different police units improved operational efficiency.
Operation Prahar launched approximately one month ago specifically targeting narcotics. The special campaign arrested 30 traffickers and drug dealers. Moreover, authorities aim to dismantle entire drug distribution networks.
Police leadership conducted regular review meetings for performance assessment. Strategic drives focused on preventing crimes before occurrence. In addition, foot patrols increased in high-crime neighborhoods substantially.
