Pandit Chandrakant Apte Music Foundation presents vocal and Kathak performances

JAMSHEDPUR – Pandit Chandrakant Apte Music Foundation will organize a classical music festival at Michael John Auditorium on December 25, 2025.
The event will commence at 3 pm. Indian classical vocal music and Kathak dance will be featured. Moreover, renowned artists from Jamshedpur and Kolkata will perform.
Birendra Upadhyay will present the opening vocal performance. Amitabh Sen will accompany him on tabla. However, the second vocal recital will be by Debapriya Adhikari.
Md. Akhlaq will provide harmonium accompaniment for Adhikari’s performance. Classical Kathak dance presentations will follow the vocal recitals. In addition, internationally acclaimed danseuse Alokparna Guha will perform.
Senior disciples Sarbani Poddar and Ayush Guha will join her. Shubhojyoti Guha will accompany on tabla. Furthermore, Sourav Chakravarty will perform as vocalist.
Sandeep Niyogi will play the sitar. Entry to the program remains free for music enthusiasts. California Television Global will broadcast the event internationally.
The broadcast will reach 15 countries. The foundation was established by late Pandit Chandrakant Apte’s disciples. Moreover, the organization aims to revive classical music tradition in Jharkhand.
The foundation perpetuates Apte’s memory and contributions. Music festivals, workshops, and competitions are organized regularly. Besides, scholarships are provided to young artists.
Special festivals mark Guruji’s death anniversary on June 1. The birth anniversary on October 10 is celebrated grandly. However, national and international artists participate in anniversary celebrations.
Small music gatherings are held every two to three months. These events provide platform for young talents. In addition, merit-based selection is followed regardless of background.
Exceptionally talented young artists receive scholarship support. Prof. Pankaj Jha shared this information as founder member. The organization strives to establish vibrant classical music culture.
