Dobokanderbera Four-Lane Work Begins, Traffic Restrictions in Place

Rs 101 Crore Road Project to Connect Sonari and Chandil to NH-33

Key Points:

  • Four-lane construction begins on 7.9 km Dobokanderbera stretch
  • Traffic banned 2 a.m. to 7 a.m. till November 12 due to safety
  • Project worth Rs 101 crore to ease Ranchi-Jamshedpur travel

JAMSHEDPUR – The widening of the Dobokanderbera road linking NH-33 has started, marking a significant step in improving road infrastructure across Jamshedpur and Seraikela-Kharsawan.

The 7.9-kilometre stretch connects Dobo, Sonari, and Chandil with NH-33. The Road Construction Department of Jharkhand has sanctioned Rs 101.06 crore for this four-lane project. Of the total amount, Rs 66 crore will go toward road construction and Rs 44 crore toward land acquisition and compensation.

However, with work beginning, the administration has restricted movement on this route. According to the Seraikela-Kharsawan DTO Girija Shankar Mahato, from November 8 to 12, vehicular traffic will remain banned between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. daily.

He stated that the no-entry rule was implemented to prevent accidents during night work. Daytime movement between 7 a.m. and 2 a.m. will remain normal. Commuters have been advised to use the Adityapur–Kandra–Chowka or Chandil route during the restricted period.

Earlier delays in land acquisition had slowed down the project. Officials confirmed that all pending issues have now been cleared and construction is progressing rapidly.

Once completed, this route will significantly reduce travel time between Jamshedpur and Ranchi. The present road is severely damaged and accident-prone, making this expansion critical for public safety and transport efficiency.
