  • By-election follows demise of Education Minister Ramdas Soren

GHATSHILA – Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Chandra Majhi campaigned for BJP candidate Babulal Soren in the Ghatshila Assembly by-election.

The Ghatshila constituency falls under Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat. A close contest is expected between ruling JMM and opposition BJP.

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren attended the rally. The Jharkhand movement veteran shared the stage with Majhi.

Both parties are intensifying their outreach efforts. Leaders from both sides are engaging with voters directly.

The by-election follows the death of Ramdas Soren. He served as Jharkhand’s Education Minister and JMM legislator.

JMM has fielded Somesh Soren, son of late Ramdas Soren. He is contesting against BJP’s Babulal Soren.

Majhi highlighted Odisha’s development trajectory under NDA government. He said the double-engine government benefits common people significantly.

“Jharkhand remains rich in mineral resources,” he stated. However, unemployment and other problems persist, he added.

Moreover, leaders criticized the state government’s failures. They claimed the administration has underperformed on every front.

The Odisha CM expressed confidence in BJP’s victory. He cited nationwide support for Prime Minister’s policies.

“Bihar is also supporting NDA,” Majhi said. People are influenced by central leadership’s work, he added.

He emphasized that NDA is gaining momentum regionally. The by-election will reflect this trend, he stated.
