IMD forecasts isolated rainfall in Singhbhum, Simdega and Gumla

RANCHI – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted isolated rainfall in parts of southern Jharkhand over the next few days.

The forecasts released by the Meteorological Centre, Ranchi, indicate rain activity between October 20 and October 24, 2025.

According to the Day-2 forecast valid till October 21, isolated rainfall is likely in East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Saraikela-Kharsawan, and Simdega districts.

The Day-4 and Day-5 forecasts show a continuation and slight spread of rain towards Khunti and Gumla, covering most of the southern belt of Jharkhand.

Districts in northern and central Jharkhand including Ranchi, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Hazaribag, and Deoghar are likely to remain dry during this period.

Temperature and Rainfall Report

The realized weather report issued at 10:00 IST on October 19, 2025, recorded warmer-than-normal conditions in most parts of the state.

Ranchi reported a maximum temperature of 31.0°C, which was 2.0°C above normal.

Jamshedpur recorded 32.5°C, 1.0°C above normal, while Daltonganj registered 33.2°C, 0.9°C above normal.

Pakur recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 34.4°C.

The lowest minimum temperature was reported at 16.9°C from Gumla AWS.

No significant rainfall was recorded across most districts in the past 24 hours.

The IMD report stated NIL rainfall in major cities including Ranchi, Bokaro, and Jamshedpur.

Visibility in Ranchi was reported at 1200 metres at the time of observation.

IMD Ranchi stated that no warning has been issued for heavy rainfall during the forecast period.

The next update from the Meteorological Centre will include detailed district-wise rainfall projections and temperature trends for late October.
