Rail GM A K Mishra Discusses Passenger Facilities with MPs, Announces Projects

JAMSHEDPUR – Rail GM Anil Kumar Mishra met with nine MPs from Jharkhand and Bengal to discuss enhancing passenger amenities.

Rail GM Anil Kumar Mishra emphasized railway efforts to improve station facilities in a meeting attended by MPs from Jharkhand and Bengal. He highlighted the addition of a fifth platform at Adityapur station and the proposed ₹319 crore redevelopment of Tatanagar station.

Passenger Amenities and Future Developments

The GM stated that train halts depend on passenger volume and approval from the Railway Board. MPs voiced requests for new train routes and enhanced services, including a Tata-Jaipur and Tata-Delhi connection.

Redevelopment Projects

Adityapur station now boasts five platforms, with the work set to complete by January 21. Tatanagar station is slated for a major upgrade with a ₹319 crore investment, aiming to improve commuter experience.

Local Demands and Proposals

MP Bidyut Baran Mahato urged for new rail lines connecting Tata to Ranchi via Namkum and other underdeveloped regions like Chandil, Bodam, Patmada, and Banduan. These proposals aim to benefit residents of backward areas with better rail access.

Addressing Regional Needs

MPs from Bengal also presented demands for improved train services in their regions. Rail GM assured all participants that the Railway Board would consider their concerns.
