Winter’s Chill Takes Break as Kolhan Region Sees Temperature Rise

Minimum Temperatures Surge to 16-17°C Across Jamshedpur, Chaibasa, Seraikela

Key Points:

  • Unusual temperature rise brings respite from winter cold in Kolhan
  • Low-pressure system over Bay of Bengal influences weather pattern
  • IMD predicts return of cold conditions within next 24 hours

JAMSHEDPUR – The Kolhan region experienced an unexpected break from winter as minimum temperatures surged significantly, with Seraikela recording the highest at 17 degrees Celsius.

The sudden temperature rise has disrupted the normal winter pattern across the region. Jamshedpur recorded 16 degrees Celsius as its minimum temperature.

Meanwhile, Chaibasa witnessed a minimum temperature of 15.6 degrees Celsius. “These unusual temperatures are a direct result of complex atmospheric conditions,” noted a meteorological expert.

Impact of Weather Systems

A well-marked low-pressure area persists over the Bay of Bengal. This system extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level.

Moreover, a western disturbance is acting as a trough in the tropospheric westerlies. The combination has temporarily halted the winter chill.

Future Weather Outlook

The IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre forecasts the return of fair weather conditions. Temperatures are expected to drop again after 24 hours.

Furthermore, the low-pressure system might intensify into a depression. However, no weather alerts have been issued for the next 48 hours.

“We’re closely monitoring these fluctuating weather patterns,” revealed a reliable source at IMD. Climate experts have linked such variations to global climate change.
