Awards Ceremony Honors Media Excellence at Kolhan Division Event

JAMSHEDPUR – Odisha Governor Raghubar Das emphasized the need for renewed focus on journalist welfare at the Kolhan Division Level Honor Ceremony.

The ceremony celebrated journalistic excellence across categories. Multiple media professionals received recognition for their work.

Moreover, the event honored families of deceased journalists. It took place at NH Hill Hotel on Sunday.

Welfare Initiatives

Governor Das reflected on past initiatives. He had introduced several welfare schemes during his chief ministerial tenure.

Furthermore, these included housing schemes and health insurance. A five-lakh rupee aid program for bereaved families was also implemented.

“Some welfare plans remained incomplete,” he noted. The governor hoped the new government will revive these initiatives.

Award Winners

Parvinder Bhatia secured first prize in feature writing. His story highlighted Ratan Tata’s architectural contributions to Jamshedpur.

In addition, Rohit Singh won top honors in hard news reporting. Sudarshan Sharma excelled in photography.

Meanwhile, Vijay Sahu emerged victorious in electronic media. Akash Kumar led the digital media category.

Community Recognition

The Press Club honored 26 veteran journalists. Seventeen families of deceased media professionals received recognition.

Besides, nineteen supporting institutions gained appreciation. The event celebrated their contributions to journalism.

Press Club President Sanjeev Bhardawaj led the ceremony. Distinguished editors Ganesh Mehta and U.N. Pathak shared industry insights.
