JAMSHEDPUR – A tragic road accident near Bandih Turn in the Bodam police station area of Patamda on Monday left one person dead and two others critically injured.

Mangal Tudu, a resident of Garigram, lost his life in the accident. His wife, Chintamani Tudu, and their 4-year-old son, Sushant Tudu, sustained severe injuries. The incident has deeply affected the grieving family.

The injured were rushed to hospitals for urgent treatment. Sushant is currently receiving care at Tata Main Hospital, while Chintamani is admitted to MGM Hospital.

On Friday, police arrested Dayamay Mahato, the pickup van’s driver and owner. Bodam police station in-charge Manoranjan Kumar stated that the arrest was made based on a written complaint filed by a village watchman. The complaint cited negligent driving as the cause of death.

The police have launched a thorough investigation into the matter. Kumar assured that all legal actions will be taken to ensure justice for the victims. He added, “We will make every effort to punish those responsible under judicial procedures.”

This accident has raised concerns over reckless driving in the region, prompting local authorities to focus on stricter enforcement of road safety laws.
