Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Death Anniversary Observed in Palamu

Shobha Yatra and tributes mark Ambedkar’s Mahaparinirvan Diwas

MEDININAGAR – Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s Mahaparinirvan Diwas was observed with reverence in Palamu on Friday.

The main event took place at the Scheduled Caste Welfare Hostel on Redma Bypass Road, where Ambedkar’s statue is installed.

The tribute began with garlanding of the statue in the hostel premises.

Following this, a Shobha Yatra commenced under the leadership of hostel superintendent Professor Ajay Ram.

The Yatra passed through Redma Chowk, the railway overbridge, Chhamuhan, and culminated at the city police station road park.

Students participating in the procession paid floral tributes at Ambedkar’s statue at the park.

Speaking at the event, Bimla Kumari, Vice President of the 20-Point Implementation Committee, described Dr. Ambedkar as a great philosopher, economist, and visionary.

She highlighted his invaluable contribution to nation-building and stressed the continuing relevance of his thoughts and principles.

“Today, there is a greater need to adopt Babasaheb’s ideals for the progress of society,” she said.

Hostel superintendent Professor Ajay Ram emphasized Ambedkar’s role in framing the Indian Constitution, which ensured equal rights for all citizens.

He called upon everyone to take a pledge to uphold and protect the values enshrined in the Constitution.

Several organizations, including the Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Jharkhand Kranti Manch, Ravidas Mahasabha, and the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Employees Federation, also observed the occasion.

Members from these groups paid floral tributes to Babasaheb’s statue, reflecting his enduring legacy among different sections of society.

A local resident remarked, “Dr. Ambedkar’s teachings continue to inspire generations striving for equality and justice.”

The event underscored the lasting impact of Babasaheb’s vision for an inclusive and equitable India.
