24-lakh-liter Mango water tower faces delays due to official negligence

Key Points:

  • Saryu Roy inspects inactive water tower in Mango, demands swift operation.
  • Project began in 2018; benefits delayed by political and administrative hurdles.
  • Water scarcity relief promised for Mango residents once operational.

JAMSHEDPUR – On Thursday, Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy conducted an inspection of the 24-lakh-liter capacity water tower in Mango. During the visit, he criticized the officials responsible for delays and directed them to make the tower operational immediately.

The water tower, inaugurated by Saryu Roy in 2018 during his previous tenure as the MLA of this region, has faced delays due to political transitions and departmental negligence. After a change in constituency, Roy was elected from Jamshedpur East, and Banna Gupta represented Jamshedpur West, also serving as a state minister. However, the project remained incomplete during this period.

Relief for Mango’s Water Crisis

Roy emphasized that the water tower would significantly alleviate the longstanding water scarcity in the Mango area. He attributed the delays to the apathy of previous representatives and departmental inefficiencies. “This project is critical for the region. If officials do not act promptly, I will recommend action against them,” he warned.

The tower, once operational, is expected to benefit thousands of households in the densely populated Mango locality.

Long-Standing Neglect

During his inspection, Roy highlighted how the project symbolizes administrative neglect. He also mentioned the water crisis has intensified due to an increase in the population. The initiative, now back on track after his intervention, promises to bring much-needed relief to the community.

Reports reveal that Jamshedpur faces significant challenges in water supply management, with aging infrastructure and delayed projects worsening the situation.
