Murder Case Solved in Seraikela: Police Identify Victim

Victim Identified as 18-Year-Old S Hansda from Mirudih Village

SERAIKELA – Seraikela police have identified the victim of Wednesday night’s murder as S Hansda, an 18-year-old resident of Mirudih village near Sitarampur Dam under RIT police station jurisdiction.

S, who had recently completed her graduation, had also attended a job interview at TISCO. On Wednesday evening, she left home around 5 PM, telling her mother she was going out briefly, carrying her mobile phone. Since then, her phone remained switched off, and she did not return.

Identification Through Facebook

To assist in the investigation, Seraikela police shared S’s photograph and details on Facebook, appealing to the public for help. Her uncle recognized her picture online and confirmed her identity to the police, bringing her family to the Seraikela police station.

Ongoing Investigation

An SIT formed by the District Police Superintendent is investigating the case. Efforts are ongoing to trace the culprits responsible for the murder. The police are actively working on leads gathered from the identification and other sources.
