Candidates Anxiously Await Counting Day as Jharkhand Polls Conclude

Tension rises in Jamshedpur with candidates closely guarding EVMs in the strongroom.

Key Points:

– Voting for the final phase of Jharkhand Assembly Elections ends tomorrow.

– Counting will take place on November 23, raising anticipation among candidates.

– Candidates from key constituencies, including Banna Gupta and Saryu Roy, monitor EVMs.

JAMSHEDPUR – As Jharkhand braces for the final phase of voting, the focus shifts to the strongrooms housing Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) ahead of the November 23 counting.

In Jamshedpur, the chill in the weather contrasts sharply with the rising anxiety among candidates. Prominent names such as Banna Gupta (Jamshedpur West) and Saryu Roy (Jamshedpur East) remain vigilant about the safety of the EVMs.

Independent candidate and BJP rebel Shivshankar Singh, contesting from Jamshedpur East, has also been seen monitoring the strongrooms at Co-operative College.

Despite outward confidence about their victory, all candidates are ensuring a close watch on the strongroom activities. “We are certain of the public’s support but are here to ensure that all protocols are followed,” remarked one of the candidates.

The Co-operative College in Jamshedpur, where EVMs are secured, has turned into a hub of activity, with candidates and their supporters ensuring round-the-clock vigilance.

As the clock ticks closer to counting day, the strongrooms have become the nerve center of election excitement, reflecting the high stakes in Jharkhand’s Assembly Elections.
