Jamshedpur Sees 64.78% Voter Turnout in Peaceful Assembly Elections

JAMSHEDPUR – Following the conclusion of voting in Jamshedpur’s six assembly constituencies, District Election Officer Ananya Mittal addressed the media at Sales Tax Bhavan Auditorium, highlighting the peaceful and transparent nature of the election process.

Mittal reported that voting was conducted in a secure and fear-free environment across all constituencies.

As of 5 p.m., the district registered an overall voter turnout of 64.78%, with several polling stations still accommodating voters who had queued up before the closing time.

According to Mittal, Baharagora led with the highest turnout at 76.15%, followed closely by Potka at 72.29% and Ghatsila at 70.05%.

The turnout for Jugsalai was recorded at 64.53%, while Jamshedpur East and Jamshedpur West reported slightly lower figures, at 56.72% and 55.95%, respectively.

All Returning Officers (ROs) from the six constituencies were present at the press briefing to confirm the smooth coordination of the electoral process.

Mittal emphasized that every precaution was taken to ensure that voting was conducted in a free and unbiased manner, encouraging citizens to participate fully in the democratic exercise.

The Election Commission’s efforts to maintain a peaceful voting environment were acknowledged, contributing to the overall success of the polling day across the district.
