Fisticuffs Alleged at Jamshedpur West polling booths; police investigate incident.

Key Points:

– Clash alleged between Congress and ASP workers at booths 293, 294.

– ASP youth leader Mazhar Khan’s clothes torn in the scuffle.

– Police arrive on-site to assess the situation following threats.

JAMSHEDPUR – A scuffle allegedly broke out on Wednesday at polling booths 293 and 294 in the Jamshedpur West Assembly constituency between a Congress worker and Mazhar Khan, district president of Azad Samaj Party (ASP) Youth Wing.

According to Khan, the incident began when Congress worker Zahid allegedly confronted him at the booth, attacking him and tearing his clothes.

Khan suggested the altercation stemmed from Congress supporters’ concerns over potential electoral loss by their candidate, Banna Gupta, which, he claimed, has created tension among Congress supporters.

Khan further alleged that Zahid threatened him as he was leaving.

Upon receiving the report, Mango Police Station In-Charge Niranjan Kumar arrived at the scene to gather details and maintain order. He, however, said that everything was going on smoothly and no untoward incident had occurred anywhere.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident as part of election security measures.
