JAMSHEDPUR – Former MLA Arvind Singh, also known as Malkhan Singh, filed his nomination for the Ichagarh Assembly seat as an independent candidate on Thursday, accompanied by a large crowd.

Singh, who has represented Ichagarh three times, submitted his nomination papers at the Chandil sub-divisional office amid a procession with drums and music.

Afterward, he held a public meeting near Chowka Thana at Tuidungri Football Ground, addressing thousands of energized supporters. He underscored his commitment to Ichagarh over the past 35 years, emphasizing his accomplishments in improving infrastructure, including roads and more than 30 bridges.

Singh stated, "From Tiker Bridge to numerous others, I worked on every infrastructure project here." He also noted past health crises in the region, including his involvement in combating a severe diarrhea outbreak in 1994 by securing additional medical personnel. Singh highlighted his focus on local issues, contrasting himself with political opponents, whom he accused of dividing people as "outsiders" and "insiders."

At the event, prominent local figures such as Shankar Gorain, Manoj Singh, Bhim Singh Munda, and Naveen Pasari were present, showing their support for Singh’s campaign.
