JAMSHEDPUR – A grid fault plunged Jamshedpur into darkness, affecting Tata Steel plants, hospitals, and residential areas.

The power outage began around 7 PM, impacting key installations across the city.

Tata Steel UISL initiated efforts to stabilize the power supply promptly.

Alternative power arrangements quickly restored electricity to Tata Steel and hospitals.

"Most parts of the city have been restored," a Tata Steel UISL spokesperson stated.

Power has been restored to Bistupur, Northern Town area, and CH Area.

Social media buzzed with unverified claims of a blast in a Tata Steel furnace.

Tata Steel refuted these rumors, clarifying there was no fire at Jamshedpur Works.

The company implemented emergency protocols to ensure safety during the outage.

Blast Furnace Operations and Hospital Services

Tata Steel initiated a safe blow down of the blast furnace as a precautionary measure.

The company took immediate steps to refire the furnace following standard procedures.

"All actions were taken in line with our safety protocols," a Tata Steel official emphasized.

Tata Main Hospital experienced a brief power outage but quickly restored services.

The hospital’s power backup system ensured uninterrupted operations during the blackout.

"All functions remain fully operational at TMH," a hospital representative confirmed.

Tata Steel UISL attributed the blackout to an issue in the DVC Grid at Jamshedpur.
