JWU Marks 78th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervor

VC highlights university achievements, announces salary hike for vocational staff

Jamshedpur Women’s University celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with events honoring progress and culture.

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur Women’s University celebrated the 78th Independence Day with flag hoisting, cultural events, and recognition of achievements.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anjila Gupta led the Independence Day celebrations at Jamshedpur Women’s University, commencing with a flag hoisting ceremony.

The event, held across both Sidhgora and Bistupur campuses, featured a parade with NCC, NSS, B.Ed, and Evergreen Agency participants.

In her address, Prof. Gupta highlighted India’s advancements in agriculture, defense, and digital technology.

She also praised the university’s recent accomplishments, including regular examinations and the implementation of the NEP curriculum.

"Our university has made significant strides, including hosting our first convocation," Prof. Gupta remarked, emphasizing the institution’s progress.

A notable announcement was the salary hike for teachers and non-teaching staff of vocational courses, demonstrating the university’s commitment to its workforce.

The celebration showcased a diverse cultural program featuring student performances from various departments.

Dr. Sanatan Deep and the music department presented patriotic songs, while B.Ed students performed a dance drama under Mrs. Sudha Deep’s direction.

Mass Communication students staged a drama on women empowerment, and Biotech students delivered a group dance.

The event also honored Sabar girl students Kunami Sabar, Milan Sabar, Lakshmi Sabar, Deepali Sabar, and Marsi Pahariya for their free enrollment and hostel arrangements.

"This recognition of our Sabar students reflects our commitment to inclusive education," stated a university official who preferred to remain anonymous.

The celebration concluded with a rendition of "Vande Mataram" and a vote of thanks by Registrar Rajendra Kumar Jaiswal.
