Victim Injured After Refusing to Pay Extortion Money

A man running a cold drinks agency in Mango’s Ulidih area was attacked and robbed by a group of 20-25 youths after refusing to pay extortion money.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a shocking incident, a man named Tanveer Alam, who runs a cold drinks agency in Dimna Road’s Mangal Colony, Mango, was assaulted and injured by a group of 20-25 youths from the same locality.

The attack occurred after Tanveer refused to pay extortion money demanded by the group.

According to reports, Tanveer and his associates were forced to lock themselves inside their warehouse to escape the violent attack.

However, the assailants managed to loot the cold drinks loaded on a tempo parked outside the warehouse and also stole a motorcycle that was parked nearby.

The incident took place when Tanveer was loading cold drinks onto a tempo for delivery.

The group of youths approached him and demanded money.

Upon his refusal, they brutally attacked him, causing injuries.

After looting the cold drinks and damaging the tempo, the attackers also took away a motorcycle parked outside the shop.

Tanveer’s younger brother, Tabrez Alam, arrived at the scene during the incident, but he too was assaulted by the group.

Both brothers managed to save themselves by locking themselves inside the warehouse.

It was only after half an hour that the police arrived, rescued the brothers from the crowd, and sent Tanveer to MGM Hospital for treatment.

Tanveer has filed a complaint at the Ulidih police station regarding the incident.

As of the time of writing, no arrests have been made in connection with the attack.

The incident has caused significant concern among local residents, highlighting issues of safety and law enforcement in the area.
