Independence Day was celebrated with traditional fervour in Jamshedpur, where Health Minister Banna Gupta addressed the public at Gopal Maidan after hoisting the National Flag.

JAMSHEDPUR – The 78th Independence Day celebration in Jamshedpur was marked by enthusiasm and patriotism, with various events held across the city.

The main official function took place at Gopal Maidan, where Health Minister Banna Gupta hoisted the National Flag, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal and SSP Kaushal Kishore.

Minister Banna Gupta’s Address

Minister Banna Gupta, in his speech, emphasized India’s rich political, social, and intellectual heritage, noting that the country is now celebrating its 78th Independence Day.

He expressed his honor in hoisting the National Flag and paid tribute to the founder of Jamshedpur, J.N. Tata, acknowledging his vision of creating a prosperous city now known as "Mini India."

Gupta highlighted several initiatives undertaken in Jamshedpur, particularly in the healthcare sector.

He spoke about his efforts to improve MGM Hospital, addressing its previous issues such as poor sanitation, lack of facilities, and security concerns.

The minister stated that since taking office, significant changes have been made, including better cleanliness, the availability of doctors, and new medical equipment.

Upcoming Infrastructure Projects

The minister also discussed the ongoing construction of the Mango-Sakchi Flyover, which aims to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce accidents.

He assured that the flyover would be completed by the end of 2025.

Additionally, he mentioned the establishment of a private medical college, Manipal Medical College, in Jamshedpur, providing better education opportunities for medical students.

Gupta highlighted the progress in building new healthcare facilities, including Dhanwantri Hospital in Sonari and a 100-bed CCU center in Kadma.

He also spoke about the efforts to make Jamshedpur a medical hub with several new projects in the pipeline.

The minister emphasized his commitment to ensuring that government resources reach the poor, highlighting his regular inspections and swift actions against negligent officials.

He also spoke about the government’s efforts to improve public amenities, including the installation of open gyms and sports facilities with Tata Steel’s support.

In closing, Gupta urged the public to continue supporting the government’s initiatives, emphasizing that development and progress in Jamshedpur and Jharkhand are ongoing.

He announced plans for the beautification of Swarnarekha Ghat, including the construction of a grand entrance and steps, and the annual organization of a Swarnarekha Aarti, similar to the Ganga Aarti in Varanasi.
