Incident highlights growing concerns over ATM security and the sophistication of fraud tactics in Jamshedpur.

JAMSHEDPUR – A woman from Mango fell victim to a cunning ATM fraud scheme, losing Rs. 34,500 at a Central Bank of India ATM near Delhi Darbar in Sakchi.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night when the victim’s card became stuck in the machine.

A bystander advised the woman to call an engineer’s number displayed at the ATM for assistance.

The fraudster, posing as an engineer, requested the victim’s PIN code under the guise of retrieving her card.

While the woman was away, unauthorized withdrawals totaling Rs. 34,500 were made from her account.

Sakchi police have registered a formal complaint and initiated an investigation into the incident.

Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby installations to identify the perpetrators.
