Senior Citizen Council Delegation Submits Five-Point Charter to DC

Senior Citizens Demand Park and Clear Footpaths in Jamshedpur

A delegation from the Senior Citizen Council of Jamshedpur met with the district commissioner on Tuesday, submitting a five-point charter of demands.

JAMSHEDPUR – A delegation from the Senior Citizen Council of Jamshedpur has submitted a five-point demand letter to the district commissioner on Tuesday.

The council members allege that the district administration is conspiring to encroach upon their walking and meeting areas.

They have requested the commissioner to inspect the field in front of A.B.C.D. Block at Kadma Bazaar and free it from encroachment, developing it into a senior citizen park with regular monitoring.

The council highlighted the issue of continuous encroachment on footpaths, empty spaces, and alleys between shops in the market, causing significant inconvenience in movement.

They demanded an inspection of the roads and their clearance from encroachments.

Additionally, the council requested the inspection of the market’s parking area, freeing it from illegal occupants, and converting it into a regulated parking site with reduced fees.

Anil Kumar, a senior member of the council, said, "We are facing difficulties due to the encroachments. The administration needs to act promptly."

The council’s demands also include ensuring the regular maintenance and monitoring of the proposed senior citizen park.

These steps are aimed at improving the quality of life for the senior citizens in the area.

The district commissioner assured the delegation that their concerns would be addressed promptly.

The Senior Citizen Council hopes for swift action to resolve these pressing issues.
