MLA Saryu Roy Highlights Azad Nagar Telco Infrastructure Woes

Letter To Tata Steel UISL MD Addresses Waterlogging And Sanitation Issues

Legislator calls for urgent solutions to longstanding problems in the Azad Market area.

JAMSHEDPUR – MLA Saryu Roy has written to the Managing Director of Tata Steel UISL, drawing attention to critical infrastructure issues plaguing Azad Nagar Telco, particularly in the Azad Market area.

"Recent drainage system changes have led to severe waterlogging in Azad Market," Roy stated in his letter, highlighting the urgent need for a solution.

The MLA explained that redirecting a major drainage system underground has resulted in sewage accumulation on market roads.

Roy emphasized the 50-year history of Azad Market, noting persistent problems like inadequate electrical connections for shops.

"Despite regular rent payments to Tata Motors, most shopkeepers lack direct electrical connections," the letter pointed out.

The area also suffers from insufficient drainage infrastructure for managing road and market water runoff.

Sanitation facilities, including toilets, pose significant challenges for local residents and visitors.

"These issues demand immediate attention to ensure the well-being of shopkeepers and customers, especially during the rainy season," Roy urged.

The MLA called on Tata Steel UISL to address these longstanding problems promptly and provide essential public amenities.

This intervention highlights the ongoing challenges in maintaining adequate infrastructure in older commercial areas of Jamshedpur.
