Monsoon Rains Sweep Across Jharkhand, Bringing Relief from Heat

Thunderstorms and lightning reported in Jamshedpur and surrounding areas

Meteorologists predict heavy rainfall across the state on Sunday.

RANCHI – Jharkhand, including the Kolhan region, experienced the onset of monsoon rains on Saturday, with thunderstorms and lightning reported in several areas.

Jamshedpur recorded a maximum temperature of 36.3°C and a minimum of 27.7°C as the rains began.

"Pakur was the hottest district in the state today," a meteorological official stated.

Daltonganj received the highest rainfall, providing much-needed relief from the heat.

Other temperature readings across the state included:

– West Singhbhum: 30.8°C

– Saraikela: 35.7°C

– Ranchi: 32.7°C

Weather experts predict heavy rainfall across all districts of Jharkhand on Sunday, promising further respite from the summer heat.

Saturday’s Maximum Temperatures:

Palamu: 39.8°C

– Godda and Pakur: 38.4°C

– Sahibganj: 38.5°C

– Deoghar: 37.7°C

The arrival of monsoon rains is expected to significantly impact agricultural activities and water resources across the state.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions during thunderstorms and heavy rainfall.

This weather pattern marks the full establishment of the monsoon season in Jharkhand for 2024.
