Anti-Corruption Bureau Nabs Official Accepting ₹8000 for File Processing
A head clerk at Land Reforms Sub-Collector’s Ofice caught red-handed in ACB operation following complaint from local landowner.
SERAIKELA – The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested S Nanda, a head clerk at the Land Reforms Sub-Collector Office in Seraikela, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹8000.
The arrest occurred on Thursday afternoon when Nanda was caught in the act of receiving money from Singh Soy, a resident of Swarnpur.
"We acted swiftly on the complaint, setting up a sting operation to catch the accused red-handed," stated Sunil Chaudhary, DSP ACB.
Case Background
Singh Soy had purchased 49 decimals of land in Mauja Ukri, Seraikela.
His mutation case was rejected by the Circle Officer, leading to an appeal with the Land Reforms Sub-Collector.
Nanda allegedly demanded ₹8000 to process Soy’s file.
Legal Action
An FIR has been lodged against Nanda under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act 2018.
The accused clerk was taken to Jamshedpur following the arrest.
Authorities expect to send Nanda to jail shortly.
