Electricity company surveys Jemco, Azad Basti for potential substation site

MLA Saryu Roy’s initiative brings hope for improved power access in underserved areas.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel UISL (Jamshedpur Utilities and Services Company) has taken a significant step towards expanding its electricity services to Jemco and Azad Basti areas.

On Wednesday, Tata Steel UISL officials conducted a site inspection in the Belgadda ground area of Jemco and Azad Basti.

The team explored potential locations for a new power substation, marking the beginning of efforts to extend Tata Steel UISL’s electricity coverage.

This development follows a recent visit by Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy to Azad Basti.

During his tour, residents expressed their desire for Tata Steel UISL electricity connections to the legislator.

Roy promptly engaged with relevant authorities, resulting in this swift action by Tata Steel UISL.

The presence of the Tata Steel UISL team sparked excitement among local residents, who are hopeful for improved power supply.

"This inspection brings us closer to reliable electricity," remarked a resident who wished to remain anonymous. "It’s a positive step for our community’s development."

Tata Steel UISL officials examined several spots for the potential substation, with the final location yet to be determined.

The chosen site will house the new substation, facilitating Tata Steel UISL’s power distribution in the area.

MLA Roy’s personal secretary, Sudhir Singh, accompanied the Tata Steel UISL team during their survey.

Several local community members, including Naveen, Rammurti, Jasbir, Pintu, Ramesh, and Bablu, were present during the inspection.

This initiative highlights ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and basic amenities in Jamshedpur’s developing areas.
