Jamshedpur’s MGM Hospital Launches App-Based Registration System

New Abha app initiative aims to cut waiting times and streamline patient processing

Jamshedpur’s MGM Hospital introduces QR code-based registration system using the Ayushman Bharat Health Account app to reduce queues and improve patient experience.

JAMSHEDPUR – MGM Hospital has rolled out a new patient registration system utilizing the Abha mobile app, aiming to significantly reduce waiting times at OPD counters.

QR codes have been installed at three strategic locations within the hospital for easy access.

"This system allows patients to register from their smartphones, eliminating the need for long queues," explained Soren Sandeep, Project Manager overseeing the initiative.

The app-based registration process involves scanning the QR code, confirming via OTP, and instantly transmitting patient information to the OPD counter’s computer.

Patients using the app need only provide their OTP and illness details at the counter before receiving their registration slip.

"We’ve seen success with a similar system at Sadar Hospital, where 50 out of 450 patients have already adopted it," Soren added.

The new process aims to improve patient convenience and reduce congestion in the hospital.

Traditional manual registration remains available for patients without smartphones.

Hospital authorities are encouraging widespread adoption of the Abha app to enhance overall healthcare service efficiency.

This initiative represents a significant step towards digitizing and streamlining healthcare access in Jamshedpur.
