Power Outages in 10 Number Basti Resolved by Tinplate Division

Power restored in 10 Number Basti after protests; infrastructure upgrades implemented

The Tinplate Division has successfully addressed recent power outages in Sukhiya Road of Number 10 Basti by upgrading the electrical infrastructure and installing an additional transformer.

JAMSHEDPUR – The power cuts experienced in Sukhiya Road of 10 Number Basti were a result of excessive demand and unauthorized connections, which pushed the electrical infrastructure beyond its capacity by over 30%, said the Tinplate Division in a statement.

Tinplate Town Services Staff, along with the TSUISL team, worked diligently to resolve the issue.

However, the resolution efforts were initially hampered by a lack of support and cooperation from the residents of Number 10 Basti.

On the night of June 11, 2024, residents protested against the power outages.

Security and police personnel managed the protests, allowing for the temporary restoration of electricity.

The following morning, more residents gathered to protest at Gate No.1.

The Electrical Team addressed the crowd, detailing the underlying issues and proposed solutions.

Actions taken included installing an additional transformer and upgrading to heavy-duty cables.

As a result, the power supply was fully restored by midnight on June 12, 2024.

The Tinplate Division is dedicated to ensuring a stable power supply and addressing the challenges posed by unauthorized connections and outstanding dues in the future.

"We are committed to providing a reliable power supply and will continue to work on improving the infrastructure," said a spokesperson from Tinplate Division.
