The 2024 Lok Sabha elections saw high voter turnout across states, with Northeastern states like Assam and Tripura leading the way. Southern states like Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, and Eastern states like Odisha and West Bengal also recorded impressive participation. Most states witnessed turnout above 60%, with many crossing the 80% mark.

NEW DELHI: The 2024 Lok Sabha elections, conducted in five phases, saw enthusiastic voter participation across states, with many states recording turnout percentages in the 70-80% range.

In Phase 1, smaller states and union territories like Lakshadweep (84.16%), Arunachal Pradesh (83.31% in Arunachal East), Puducherry (78.90%), and Sikkim (79.88%) recorded some of the highest turnouts.

Assam also saw strong participation, with turnout above 75% in all five constituencies that went to polls in this phase. Tamil Nadu recorded turnout in the 60-80% range across its 38 constituencies.

Phase 2 continued to see high voter enthusiasm, with Assam again recording turnout above 75% in all constituencies. Small states like Tripura (80.36% in Tripura East) and Goa (North Goa 77.69%, South Goa 74.47%) saw impressive turnouts. Karnataka also recorded 70%+ turnout in most constituencies.

In Phase 3, the northeastern states saw the highest participation, with Assam’s Dhubri clocking a whopping 92.08% turnout. Gujarat, Goa, and parts of Karnataka maintained their strong showing with turnout mostly in the 60-70% range.

Phase 4 polling covered many states, with Andhra Pradesh recording consistently high turnouts in the 70-80% range across all constituencies. Eastern states like Odisha and West Bengal also saw turnout above 70-80% in most seats. Telangana and parts of Maharashtra maintained turnout in the 60-70% zone.

Finally, in Phase 5, Odisha and West Bengal continued their high participation with 70-80% turnout. Bihar, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra saw slightly lower but still decent turnouts in the 50-60% range in most constituencies.
