Noamundi and West Bokaro Facilities to Provide Comprehensive Medical Services, Boosting Bed Capacity by 200
In a significant move to enhance healthcare services in Jharkhand, Tata Steel has inaugurated two new, state-of-the-art Tata Main Hospitals (TMH) in Noamundi and West Bokaro. The facilities, which will add around 200 beds to the region’s healthcare infrastructure, are set to revolutionize medical services for employees, their families, and the community at large.
JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel has taken a major stride towards improving healthcare access in Jharkhand with the inauguration of two new Tata Main Hospitals in Noamundi and West Bokaro on May 15, 2024.
The cutting-edge facilities are expected to significantly boost the region’s medical services, with a combined capacity of approximately 200 beds.
The hospitals have been constructed using Tata Steel Nest-In’s prefabricated solutions, a innovative approach that not only expedited the construction process but also ensured the highest standards of safety and sustainability.
Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President of Corporate Services at Tata Steel, D. B. Sundara Ramam, Vice President of Raw Materials, Akshay Khullar, Vice President of Engineering & Projects, and other senior officials and union members of the company were present at the inauguration ceremony, which was led by T. V. Narendran, CEO & MD of Tata Steel.
The new hospitals are equipped with an array of specialized treatment units, including an ICU, a high-dependency unit, isolation rooms, daycare beds, and general wards, catering to the diverse medical needs of patients across all age groups.
Tata Steel’s proactive approach to expanding healthcare services comes in response to the rising global burden of non-communicable and chronic diseases, which has driven up the demand for quality medical care.
The Tata Main Hospital brand, which traces its roots back to 1908, shortly after the establishment of Tata Steel in 1907, has remained steadfast in its commitment to the welfare of employees and the community, guided by the vision of the company’s founding fathers.
T. V. Narendran, CEO & Managing Director of Tata Steel, emphasized the company’s dedication to empowering communities and enriching lives through sustainable social and environmental initiatives, stating that the addition of the two new hospitals will further augment healthcare services in the region.

The new facilities will offer a comprehensive range of services, including pathology, biochemistry, microbiology, ophthalmology, internal medicine, emergency care, general surgery, ENT, CT scan, MRI scan, orthopaedics, paediatrics, dentistry, dermatology, ultrasound, physiotherapy, dialysis, and blood bank.
TMH Jamshedpur, currently a ~1000-bed facility, serves as a testament to Tata Steel’s longstanding commitment to the health and well-being of its employees, their families, and the broader community.
