Jharkhand CM Champai Soren Backs Joba Majhi, Slams BJP at Rajnagar Rally

Urges Voters to Support India Grand Alliance Candidate for Singhbhum Lok Sabha Seat

Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren addressed an election rally in support of India Grand Alliance candidate Joba Majhi at the high school football ground in Rajnagar block, his assembly constituency, on Thursday, criticizing the BJP and highlighting his government’s achievements.

JAMSHEDPUR – Chief Minister Champai Soren made a fervent appeal to the people attending the rally to vote for Joba Majhi, the India Grand Alliance candidate from Singhbhum, emphasizing her status as the wife of a martyred agitator and asserting that her victory would protect the state’s water, forests, and land.

Soren accused the BJP of being a ‘jumlebaaz’ party, making empty promises without addressing critical issues such as inflation, employment, and education during the last ten years under Narendra Modi’s leadership.

He alleged that the BJP opposed the state government’s efforts to provide 27 percent reservation to OBCs based on the 1932 Khatian and the Sarna Religion Code.

The Chief Minister claimed that the BJP seeks power to benefit a handful of its industrialist friends and has its eyes on Jharkhand’s mineral resources.

Soren highlighted his government’s initiatives, including providing relief to the people by issuing 20 lakh new green ration cards after the previous BJP government had canceled the ration cards of 11 lakh poor people in the state.

Health Minister Banna Gupta, who also addressed the public meeting, accused the BJP of dividing the country by destroying peace and love and instigating fights among people.

He appealed to the audience to make Joba Majhi victorious, describing her as a struggling woman whose victory would strengthen women’s empowerment.

Chakradharpur MLA Sukhram Oraon emphasized the significance of this Lok Sabha election, stating that it is not a routine general election but a challenge to protect their religion and culture.

The election rally caused a prolonged traffic jam on the Rajnagar main road, with candidate Joba Majhi, Minister Deepak Biruwa, and MLA Sukhram Oraon reaching the venue after the Chief Minister had already taken the stage.

The public meeting witnessed the presence of Seraikela-Kharsawan District Council President Sonaram Bodra, JMM District President Dr. Suvendu Mahato, Chhayakant Gorai, Rahul Aditya, and a large number of villagers, along with leaders and workers from JMM, Congress, and RJD.
