Arrest Follows Raid on Hotel, Concerns Rise Over Youth Drug Addiction
M Sahu, the alleged mastermind behind a ganja smuggling racket, has been apprehended by the Kowali police station in East Singhbhum district following an investigation triggered by a recent raid on a hotel where ganja sales were discovered.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant breakthrough, the Kowali police station in East Singhbhum district has arrested M Sahu, the prime suspect in a ganja smuggling operation, following a series of investigations and raids.
The police had initially detained a ganja seller from a hotel premises during a recent raid and subsequently jailed him, which led to the intensification of efforts to locate Motilal, the alleged supplier of the contraband.
After conducting a thorough investigation, the police successfully apprehended Motilal, who is believed to be a key figure in the ganja smuggling network.
The arrest comes amidst growing concerns about the increasing drug addiction among the youth in various villages falling under the jurisdiction of the Kowali police station.
Dhananjay Kumar Paswan, the in-charge of Kowali police station, mobilized a team to conduct raids, resulting in the arrest of Suku Mahakud, the ganja seller, on April 22.
Currently, M Sahu has been remanded to judicial custody as the police continue their investigations into the ganja smuggling racket and its possible links to other areas.
The successful apprehension of the prime suspect is expected to provide crucial insights into the modus operandi of the smuggling operation and help the police unravel the network.
The police have reiterated their commitment to cracking down on drug-related crimes and protecting the youth from falling prey to substance abuse.
