Former Congress Leader Jitendra Singh Joins Race as Independent Candidate Amid Diverse Political Landscape
The nomination process for the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha elections is approaching its final stages, with a flurry of candidates submitting their papers on Saturday, including former Congress leader Jitendra Singh, who severed ties with the party to enter the fray as an independent candidate.
JAMSHEDPUR – As the deadline for nominations looms, the political landscape in Jamshedpur is witnessing a surge of candidates vying for the Lok Sabha seat, with nine aspirants filing their papers on Saturday alone, highlighting the intense competition and diverse range of parties and ideologies in the race.
Among the notable developments, former Congress leader Jitendra Singh made a bold move by cutting ties with the party and submitting his nomination as an independent candidate, adding an intriguing twist to the already complex electoral battle.
The day saw a wide array of candidates from various political parties and backgrounds filing their nominations, including Jairam Das as an independent candidate, Sukumar Soren representing the Bharat Adivasi Party, Sadhu Charan Pal and Parvati Kisku as independent candidates, Sanka Mahato from the SUCI, and Sheikh Akhiruddin from the Bahujan Maha Party.
Furthermore, Indradev Prasad, Gyansagar Prasad, and G Jairam Das threw their hats into the ring as independent candidates for the 09-Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency, adding to the growing list of contenders.
Earlier in the nomination process, prominent candidates such as BJP’s Bidyut Baran Mahato, JMM’s INDIA bloc candidate Sameer Mohanty, Bablu Prasad Dangi, Lokhit Adhikar Party’s Manoj Gupta, and independent candidate Arun Mahato had already submitted their papers, setting the stage for a fiercely contested election.
The diverse political spectrum was further highlighted by the participation of candidates from various parties and ideologies, including Arun Kumar Sharma of the Indian Azad Sena, Dharmu Tudu representing the Ambedkarite Party of India, independent candidates Jujhar Soren, Saurabh Vishnu, and Ashok Kumar of the People’s Party of India Democratic, and Manish Kumar of the Right to Recall Party.
As the nomination process nears its conclusion, the stage is set for an intense electoral battle, with the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency witnessing a wide array of candidates, each bringing their unique perspectives and promises to the voters.
