Everest Trek Led by Tata Steel Foundation Inspires Adventure

A Mix of Corporate Employees and Public Embark on the Iconic Everest Base Camp Journey

The 2024 Everest Base Camp trek, facilitated by the Tata Steel Adventure Foundation, concluded recently, featuring a unique blend of participants from various backgrounds.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Everest Base Camp trek organized by the Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) recently wrapped up, showcasing a diverse group from both corporate and public sectors.

This year’s expedition was guided by Swarnalata Dalai and Baldev Singh, seasoned TSAF instructors.

Dalai, who summited Everest in 2018, leveraged her mountaineering insights to aid the trekkers in critical situations.

Singh, on the other hand, engaged the group with compelling narratives, enhancing the overall experience.

The team consisted of 22 individuals, including three women and 19 men, with seven participants external to Tata Steel, emphasizing TSAF’s commitment to promoting inclusivity in adventure activities.

Their route traced the scenic trails along the Dudh Koshi River and passed through culturally rich Sherpa villages like Tengboche.

The trek’s pinnacle was the group’s arrival at Everest Base Camp, which sits at an elevation of 17,598 feet, with some members ascending further to Kala Patthar’s peak at 18,555 feet.

The journey not only offered breathtaking views of the Khumbu Icefall but also immersive experiences in local Sherpa culture.

Looking forward, TSAF has scheduled another Everest Base Camp trek for May 2024, promising similar adventurous opportunities for future participants.
