CHAIBASA – The Ram Navami festival in Chaibasa city saw heightened political activity this year, with candidates from various parties participating to connect with voters amid the Lok Sabha elections.
BJP candidate Geeta Koda and former Chief Minister Madhu Koda were notably present in the Ram Navami procession, where they received a warm welcome, including saffron robes and swords as gifts.
Madhu Koda, demonstrating his skill with a stick, engaged the crowd by displaying traditional stick tricks, symbolizing his strength and artistry.
Similarly, Jagat Manjhi, son of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate Joba Manjhi from the Indi Alliance, was active in the community, visiting local temples and participating in prayers.
His presence was part of a concerted effort to seek blessings for his mother’s electoral success, highlighting the blend of religion and politics during this festive season.
With the Lok Sabha elections underway, both sides are keenly aware of the importance of public engagements like Ram Navami to fortify their visibility and connect with constituents.
The electoral contest will continue to unfold with the results expected on June 4, leaving candidates and voters engaged in the democratic process until then.
