The Tribal Oraon Sarhul Puja Committee celebrated the nature festival Sarhul with great enthusiasm on Thursday in Marietola, with Minister Deepak Biruwa gracing the occasion as the chief guest and inaugurating the Sarhul Shobha Yatra.
CHAIBASA – Marietola witnessed a vibrant celebration of the Sarhul festival, organized by the Tribal Oraon Sarhul Puja Committee, with Minister Deepak Biruwa as the chief guest.
The Minister inaugurated the Sarhul Shobha Yatra and conveyed his wishes for happiness, peace, prosperity, greenery, good harvest, and protection from the global pandemic in the area.
Biruwa emphasized the importance of preserving the Sarhul tradition, which has been passed down from ancestors, and the need to educate the younger generation about the significance of Sarhul and the environment.
He attributed the preservation of the environment and culture to the unbreakable bond and love that the tribal community shares with nature.
The Minister urged everyone to plant trees to maintain a clean environment, stating that human life is intrinsically connected with nature and that the Sarhul festival reinforces this connection.
Men, women, and girls of the society participated in the Sarhul festival, dressed in traditional attire, adding to the colorful and festive atmosphere.

Prior to the inauguration, the organizing committee honored the chief guest and other guests by presenting them with turbans, body clothes, and saplings.
