Students and faculty of Srinath Public School in Adityapur, Kharsawan honor Rabindranath Tagore on his birth anniversary
The birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, the world-renowned poet, litterateur, philosopher, and Nobel Prize winner for Indian literature, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Srinath Public School in Adityapur, Kharsawan.
JAMSHEDPUR – Srinath Public School in Adityapur, Kharsawan, celebrated the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, the world-famous poet, litterateur, philosopher, and Nobel Prize winner for Indian literature, with great fervor and enthusiasm.
The event was attended by school president Sukhdev Mahato, principal Sanjay Kumar Singh, academic director Dilip Kumar Mahato, teachers, and students from classes 9 to 12.
The celebration began with the school’s president, academic director, and principal paying homage to Tagore by garlanding his portrait.
Students then presented a variety of colorful programs, including the staging of poems, plays, and stories written by Tagore.
Arnita Priya, a class 10 student, delivered a speech highlighting Tagore’s extraordinary talent and his role as a visionary who revitalized Indian cultural consciousness through Bengali literature.
She also noted that Tagore was Asia’s first Nobel Prize winner and the only poet whose compositions became the national anthems of two countries.
Principal Sanjay Kumar Singh encouraged students to draw inspiration from the lives of great individuals like Tagore, emphasizing that ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things by emulating their qualities.
Academic Director Dilip Kumar Mahato enumerated Tagore’s contributions, stating that he brought India’s cultural heritage to the people through various literary forms to awaken national consciousness.
Mahato also highlighted Tagore’s patriotism, mentioning that he returned the title of "Sir" bestowed upon him by the British in protest against the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
The school’s celebration aimed to inspire students to learn from Tagore’s life and works while appreciating his immense contributions to Indian literature and culture.
