School Emphasizes Resilience, NEP’s Vision, and Parental Influence on Students’ Development
DAV Public School, Bistupur organized a Parent Orientation Program for Class XI students of the 2024-25 session on April 10, 2024, at the central lawn within the school premises, aiming to address crucial aspects of the Senior Secondary education journey.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a well-coordinated event that commenced at 6:00 pm, DAV Public School, Bistupur conducted an Orient Parenting Program for Class XI students, focusing on the importance of resilience, the National Education Policy (NEP)’s vision, and the role of parents in shaping their children’s academic and personal growth.
The program began with the soulful rendition of the DAV GAAN and the lighting of the Ceremonial Lamp, setting the stage for an evening of meaningful discussions and insights.
Ms. Mousumi Bhattacharjee, Coordinator of Senior Secondary Classes, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the need to remain resilient in the face of challenges and to leverage the flexibility offered by the NEP’s progressive approach.
"We must focus on the learner-oriented assessment patterns followed in Senior Secondary Classes, which are designed to nurture the unique potential of each student," Bhattacharjee stressed.
Senior faculty member Mr. S. K. Samanta familiarized the audience with the guidelines for students and highlighted the importance of addressing key emotional issues during this critical phase of their lives.
"These two years will be crucial in shaping the dreams and aspirations of our youngsters, and we must provide them with the support and guidance they need to navigate their worries and inhibitions," Samanta emphasized.
The school also encouraged students to participate in at least one sports event of their choice from Team Event, Combat Event, or Athletics during the DAV National Sports.
In her address, Mrs. Pragya Singh, Principal cum ARO of DAV Public Schools, Zone E, underscored the profound impact of parental behavior on children’s development.
"If parents prioritize reading, so will their children. Similarly, excessive phone use sets a precedent for children. We must question the purpose behind our actions and instill this mindset in our children," Singh urged, adding that healthy discussions at home are vital for fostering a supportive environment.
She also prompted parents to reflect on the necessity of additional tuition, given the comprehensive education provided by the school, and invited them to collaborate in finding solutions that promote unity within the DAV family.
The event concluded with the introduction of Class Teachers and subject teachers for the respective Class XI sections and streams, followed by a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. Nawin Kumar, Sr. PGT (Coordinator).
