JAMSHEDPUR – Chakradharpur Division announces plans for faster train operations along key routes.
Trains on the Tatanagar-Badampahar route will soon travel at speeds up to 110 km per hour, enhancing transit times.
Similarly, the railway is set to increase train speeds to 130 km per hour on the Jharsuguda-Rourkela line, promising quicker journeys.
These speed upgrades are part of broader infrastructure improvements, including the addition of third and fourth lines in strategic areas.
The construction of a third line between Tatanagar and Adityapur, and a fourth line near Rourkela, Bandamunda, and Jharsuguda, is underway.
Such developments aim to boost the efficiency and speed of train operations within the South East Zone, notably on the Howrah-Mumbai corridor.
The initiative reflects the railway division’s commitment to improving service and reducing travel times for passengers.
