Jamshedpur’s NHES celebrates opening of Kusum Kamani Auditorium with cultural showcase.
In a significant development for the educational and cultural landscape of Jamshedpur, Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES) has inaugurated the Kusum Kamani Auditorium, a state-of-the-art facility designed to foster artistic and academic pursuits. Named in honor of the late Kusum Kamani, the auditorium symbolizes a blend of sustainability and innovation, marking a new era for the institution renowned for its commitment to excellence.
JAMSHEDPUR – Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES) has inaugurated the Kusum Kamani Auditorium, a state-of-the-art facility designed to foster artistic and academic pursuits. Named in honor of the late Kusum Kamani, the auditorium symbolizes a blend of sustainability and innovation.
Tata Steel’s Global CEO T.V. Narendran inaugurated the auditorium on April 1, reiterating Tata Steel’s commitment to supporting educational infrastructure.
The programme on April 4 commenced with traditional fervour, featuring a lighting ceremony and a series of cultural performances that encapsulated India’s diverse heritage, from classical dance forms to martial arts.
Killol Kamani, a trustee, expressed gratitude towards everyone involved, marking the event’s successful conclusion with a vote of thanks.
The showcase was the brainchild of Principal Paramita Roy Chaudhury, brought to life by Tandrima Banerjee, Subhash Banerjee, and their team, highlighting the institution’s rich cultural ethos.
The auditorium’s conceptual design as a "Floating Auditorium" by architect Nalin Goel innovatively enhances outdoor activity space while accommodating a thousand attendees within a 36,500 sqft area.
Nalin Goel, the auditorium’s architect, emphasized the use of sustainable materials and techniques in construction, including recycled PET bottles for acoustic panels and stone waste for the stage flooring, underscoring the project’s green credentials.
In his speech, Nakul Kamani paid tribute to his grandfather, Seth Sri Narbheram Hansraj Kamani, and dedicated the auditorium to the citizens of Jamshedpur, reflecting on a century of the Kamani family’s educational contributions.
Nakul Kamani’s leadership has been pivotal in maintaining NHES’s status as a premier educational institution, with a continuous emphasis on striving for excellence.
Guest of Honor Chanakya Chaudhury lauded the new auditorium and Nakul Kamani’s dedication to maintaining high standards at NHES, reflecting Tata Steel’s ongoing support for community initiatives.
The auditorium commemorates Late Kusum Kamani, celebrating her roles as an entrepreneur, social worker, and family matriarch, reinforcing her lasting impact on the community.
Tata Steel’s T.V. Narendran, in a special video message, acknowledged the Kamani family’s significant contributions to Jamshedpur’s development and highlighted the auditorium’s innovative green design.
The formal opening of the Kusum Kamani Auditorium by Chanakya Chaudhury, alongside Nakul Kamani and distinguished guests, marks a significant milestone in NHES’s history.
