Jamshedpur Women’s University Leads Anti-Drug Campaign

Students conduct awareness rally and community outreach during week-long initiative

Quiz competition and group discussions highlight youth role in combating substance abuse.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Anti-Drugs Squad of Jamshedpur Women’s University organized a series of events as part of their week-long anti-drug campaign.

On the fifth day, students spread awareness about drug abuse prevention in their neighborhoods.

A large awareness rally was held on the sixth day, with participation from various departments including NSS, B.Ed, and M.Ed students.

"The main objective of this rally was to inform society about the harmful effects of drug abuse," stated a university spokesperson.

Following the rally, a quiz competition and group discussion were organized on campus.

The group discussion focused on topics like "Our responsibility in building a drug-free India" and "Measures for drug prevention."

Dr. Kishwar Ara, DSW Nodal Officer, played a key role in organizing the events.

Other faculty members including Dr. Gloria Purti (NSS Coordinator) and Dr. Kamini Kumari (B.Ed Coordinator) supported the initiative.

Dr. Ratna Mitra, IQAC Director, and several other professors contributed to the program’s success.

This campaign demonstrates the university’s commitment to social issues and student engagement.

The multi-faceted approach aims to create lasting awareness about drug abuse among students and the wider community.
