Karim City College Hosts Webinar on Water Crisis Management

Experts discuss solutions and strategies for managing water resources at Karim City College’s webinar.

JAMSHEDPUR – Marking ‘World Water Week’ on March 24, 2024, Karim City College (KCC) facilitated an enlightening online seminar on ‘Water Crisis and Management’, bringing together distinguished speakers and participants to delve into this global challenge.

The event, a collaborative effort by the Department of Geography, National Service Scheme, and Kolhan University, featured Dr. A K M Anwaruzzaman from Aliya University as the guest speaker, offering profound insights into water scarcity issues.

Dr. Mohammad Reyaz, Principal of Karim City College, inaugurated the session with a warm welcome to attendees, acknowledging the webinar’s significance in fostering a deeper understanding of water crisis management.

Dr. Dara Singh Gupta from Kolhan University emphasized the urgency of addressing water-related challenges, highlighting the seminar’s role in educating participants on sustainable practices and solutions.

Key discussions led by Dr. Anwaruzzaman focused on the underlying causes of water scarcity and the essential conservation techniques, including wastewater recycling, rainwater harvesting, and the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices.

A dynamic question-and-answer segment, steered by Professor Dr. Pasarul Islam, allowed students to engage directly with experts, enhancing the educational impact of the seminar.

Dr. Aale Ali, leading the Geography Department at KCC, elaborated on the health impacts associated with water issues and emphasized preventive strategies, further broadening the seminar’s scope.

The webinar concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Farzana Anjum, Assistant Teacher in the Geography Department, reflecting on the session’s success in raising awareness and stimulating discussion among the over 60 students and NSS volunteers in attendance.

This seminar underscored the critical importance of collective efforts and informed strategies in combating water scarcity, encouraging participants to advocate for and implement water conservation measures in their communities.
