BJP Announces Candidates for Chatra, Dhanbad, Dumka LS Seats

New Faces Given Chance, Including 3 Women Candidates in Jharkhand

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its candidates for the Chatra, Dhanbad, and Dumka Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand, giving opportunities to new faces, including three women candidates, for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

RANCHI – Kalicharan Singh, the current state vice president of BJP, has been given the ticket from Chatra, replacing outgoing MP Sunil Kumar Singh. Dhulu Mahato, an MLA from Baghmara assembly constituency, has been named the candidate from Dhanbad, replacing MP PN Singh.

In a significant development, Sita Soren, who recently left Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and joined BJP, has been made the candidate from Dumka, replacing the previously announced candidate, Sunil Soren. Sita Soren, the elder daughter-in-law of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren and sister-in-law of former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, resigned from all posts in JMM and the Assembly before joining BJP.

Sita Soren’s Candidature Adds Intrigue to Dumka Contest

The decision to field Sita Soren from Dumka has added an element of intrigue to the electoral contest in the constituency. As a former JMM MLA and member of the influential Soren family, her candidature is expected to have a significant impact on the political dynamics of the region.
