District officials inspect check points to curb illegal activities during Lok Sabha Elections 2024
With the Lok Sabha General Elections 2024 on the horizon, district authorities have ramped up security measures, activating 24X7 checkpoints at key locations to prevent the illicit flow of goods and disrupt election interference.
JAMSHEDPUR – District Election Officer, Ananya Mittal, and Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishore Kaushal, led an inspection of the Mucharisol checkpoint near the Odisha border and the Darisol checkpoint adjacent to West Bengal, emphasizing the importance of stringent vehicle checks.
The move comes as part of a broader initiative to ensure a fair and smooth electoral process, with checkpoints strategically placed to deter the illegal transportation of liquor, money, drugs, and other items across district borders.
Officials, including Rural SP Rishabh Jha, were present during the inspections, reviewing the vehicle inspection registers and instructing personnel to meticulously inspect all vehicles and cargo.
Authorities have been instructed to take immediate action upon the discovery of objectionable materials or sums of money, with an emphasis on maintaining accurate vehicle check registers and swift communication of any incidents to the district administration.
This initiative is supported by a comprehensive team of district and police officials, underscoring a collective effort to uphold law and order and ensure the integrity of the upcoming elections.
