Volunteers to Receive Specialized Instruction on Crisis Intervention and Emotional Support
Jeevan, a Jamshedpur-based suicide prevention centre, is set to host a comprehensive two-day refresher training programme on March 16 and 17th, 2024, at SNTI, aiming to enhance the skills and knowledge of its dedicated volunteers in providing crucial support to individuals facing mental health challenges.
JAMSHEDPUR – Jeevan has been helping people suffering from psychological and psychiatric issues for a long time. Now, it has embarked on a mission to equip its volunteers with better skills.
The organization is going to hold a 2-day refresher training program on March 16-17 at SNTI. The purpose of the training program is to make its volunteers more effective in dealing with target groups.
P K Ghose, Managing Director, JAMIPOL LTD, will inaugurate the training programme.
The training, led by Shankar Nararayanan, former national coordinator of Befrienders India, and Manjit, a respected trainer from Kolkata and current Treasurer of Befrienders India, will focus on equipping the 35 participating volunteers with advanced techniques in empathetic communication, crisis intervention, and practical approaches to offering emotional support to those in distress.
