Governor CP Radhakrishnan Schedules Key Meeting with JMM Chief Soren
Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan set to meet JMM combine’s Champai Soren, potentially signaling a significant shift in the state’s political landscape.
RANCHI – Governor CP Radhakrishnan has agreed to meet with JMM combine legislature party chief Champai Soren at 5.30 pm today.
This development follows a letter from Soren to the Governor, requesting recognition of his claim to form a new government in Jharkhand.
Soren expressed concerns about the absence of a functioning government in the state for the past 18 hours.
He emphasized the urgent need for a stable government to resolve the prevailing state of confusion.
Soren’s letter highlighted the constitutional responsibilities of the Governor in facilitating the formation of a popular government.
He requested a meeting at Raj Bhavan with all MLAs to demonstrate his majority support.
The letter included claims of backing from 47 MLAs and the signatures of 43, surpassing the majority requirement.
Governor Radhakrishnan has scheduled a meeting with Soren and other key MLAs at 5:30 pm at Raj Bhavan.
The MLAs granted the appointment include JMM’s Champai Soren, ML MLA Vinod Singh, JVM’s Pradeep Yadav, Congress’s Alamgir Alam, and RJD’s Satyanand Bhokta.
This crucial meeting comes after the ruling party MLAs submitted their letter of support to the Governor and awaited his response.
Currently, these MLAs are stationed at the Circuit House, anticipating the outcome of the meeting.
